Day 215 - Paper art: exhibition CODA Paper Art 2013

Paper is a great material. It inspires designers to create the most amazing and creative art works, such as dresses, jewels, objects.

At CODA, a museum in Apeldoorn (the Netherlands), there is a large exhibition: Paper Art.
Works of no less than 23 artists and 16 jewelry designers of both the Netherlands and abroad can be seen.

Below you see a few examples. Want to see more? Visit the website and/or the museum.

Day 182 - Graphic design: Creative and tasty Sandwich Book

Graphic designer Pawel Piotrowski (Poland) designed a very tasty book... a book you almost want to eat...

The pages of the so-called Sandwich Book look like a realistic and tasty sandwich: lettuce, tomato, chess, egg, meat...

Have a nice meal!

By the way, Pawl is still looking for a publisher.
Contact him if you like this book and want to help him.

Day 156 - Paper art: free creative and colorful printables for kids

Mr Printables is a website with creative and colorful paper craft for kids:
puzzles, paper dolls, invitations, hats and - my favorite - finger puppets such as snakes and birds.

Below you find a few examples (Source: Mr Printables)

The templates can be downloaded for free and they are easy to make.

Day 128 - Paper art: delicate and beautiful papercuts

Below you see three paper cuts made by Peter Callesen.

Peter Callesen is a paper artist: through delicate cuts he transforms ordinary sheets of A4 paper into real pieces of artwork. Each sheet transforms slowly into a story: sometimes dramatic, sometimes, romantic...

My favorite one is the first one, entitled 'Holding on to Myself.
Simple, minimalistic and at the same time dramatic and exciting.

Day 17 - Not just a shopping bag

Shopping bags are often not more than a plastic or paper bag with a logo on it.
Quite boring...

But some store do a lot better than that!

They offer creative and attractive bags.
Here are some of them.

Day 11 - Sarah Illenberger speaks in images

One of the designers-illustrators I admire a lot is
SARAH ILLENBERGER.

She uses simple materials such as paper, food, textiles
and wood to create new, vivid, often humorous images
that make stories come to life.
