Day 342 - Contemporary art: illusive light installation in the dessert

Philip K Smith III made an amazing installation.

He modified a wooden cabin in Joshua Tree, California, and transformed it into an illusive object.
By adding mirrors to the cabin, he succeeded in creating a 'transparant' installation that seems to be part of its surroundings. The title of this installation is Lucid Stead

Day 253 - Burst of color: Rainbow stairs appear all over Turkey

The first rainbow stairs were painted by Huseyin Cetinel. His aim was 'to make people smile'.

Unfortunately, the authorities did not like Cetinel's project and they repainted the stairs with grey paint.
This was the starting point for activists all over the country to paint stairs in rainbow colors. From the East to the West, form the North to the South, there are rainbow stairs all over the country as a sign of anti-government protests.

Day 147 - Street art project New York: Mark This Town

Art is not only found in the museums, but also in the streets.

In New York there is street art project that is called  Make This Town:

"Cities, especially New York is full of mayhem. People are busy with their routines. But there is something in the New York spirit that inspires people to stop for musicians, performance art and flash mobs. Pausing to appreciate the smaller moments — a clever sticker in the subway, or an inspiring quote on the wall of a building — makes our day. We want to create that feeling for you.
But we can’t do it alone. Submit the statements you want marked in this town."

You want to participate?

In his illustrations, he strives to say as much as possible with a minimum of means.
His favorite subjects to draw are dresses, bags, shoes and jewelry.

Here are some photos to give you an impression of what the exhibition - that I recommend! - looks like.
