Day 365 - One year of inspiring days!

Yes, I did it.

One year,
365 days,
each day
a post that inspired me.

And that
may be
inspired you too!

And now...
What to do?

Stop,
or
continue
this blog.

Not each day,
but may be
each week.

I'll think
about it,
and let you
know!

Day 363 - Happy New Year

The New Year has started it's way around the world...

Here, in the Netherlands, we have to wait 10 more hours to celebrate the start of 2014. Traditionally, we celebrate it with firework, champaign and so-called "oliebollen" (Dutch pastry).

Happy New Year to all of you. Wish you the best!

Day 361 - Amsterdam Light Festival - illuminated arch at the Rijksmuseum

The Amsterdam Light Festival started on December 6, and can be seen until January 19.

For 50 days, the historical center of Amsterdam will present a unique decor. This year's theme is "Building with Light".  It consists of 30 light sculptures and projections from international artists.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit the festival yet, but I will do so next week.

Right now I would like to share one project with you: light battle by venivdimultiplex. This artwork illuminates the passage under the Rijksmuseum. Passengers are invited to take place on an a bicycle and to generate energy and light by pedaling.

Below you see a photo of this interactive artwork.

Day 360 - Product design: landscape carpets

Roosmarijn Pallandt, Dutch designer, designs wonderful carpets.
The starting point for her design are Google Earth photo's.

Pallandt herself says:
"Starting from a bird's eye perspective on a landscape and it's climate, RUGS zoom in to the pixel of a computer scree and results in carpets of 1 x 1 meter; catching a piece of the planet into a rug on your floor."

Merry Christmas to all of you.

The perfect time for a romantic evening under the stars. Not outside int the cold, but warm and cosy in your living room.

Starry light changes your ceiling in a sky full of stars. The lamp is a coproduction of graphic designer Anna Farkas and interior designer Miklós Batisz.

Day 345 - Photography: architecture, The Hague, Netherlands

Last weekend I had a photo class in The Hague.

We first went to the new business district to do some architecture photography. As it was a bit foggy, it was a challenge to make interesting photo's.

Day 342 - Contemporary art: illusive light installation in the dessert

Philip K Smith III made an amazing installation.

He modified a wooden cabin in Joshua Tree, California, and transformed it into an illusive object.
By adding mirrors to the cabin, he succeeded in creating a 'transparant' installation that seems to be part of its surroundings. The title of this installation is Lucid Stead

Day 335 - Graphic design: creative solution for fire prevention

Every company has to care about fire protection.

Unfortunately, fire extinguishers are not very nice objects. Their color, form and size may even be very disturbing in your interior.

Talent & Pro, a Dutch company, found a very creative solution. They succeeded in integrating the extinguishers in their office by drawing illustrations around them.

As you can see, one extinguisher is transformed into a headset whereas the second became a diver's oxygen cylinder.
