Day 273 - Exhibition James Turrell: An explosion of light, color and space (New York, 2013)

During my trip to New York City (August 2013), I went to the Guggenheim museum.

There was an exhibition of James Turrell. He created a major project that transformed the Guggenheim rotunda into an enormous volume filled with light. This was a great experience.

Watch the video to experience it yourself!

Day 272 - Graphic design: Dislectika, or how it feels to be dyslectic...

Wondering how it feels to be dyslectic?

Navid Nuur, a Dutch artist who was born in Iran, had developed a typeface that let's you experience dyslexia. In his for, that is called Dislectika, lines start to move, forms are transforming and the letters blend together and create new words.

Day 269 - Graphic design in New York City: 'what's up?'

In New York City I spend a whole lot of time looking around me,
in the streets, the subway, billboards, shopping windows, shops, etc.

Why? Simply to get inspired and to see what kind of 'language' graphic designers use in the USA.

The photo below is taken in OPening Ceremony, a wonderful store in Soho.

Day 268 - Street art: Love locks in New York City

Today I read an article on love locks in a Dutch newspaper.

It said that the locks on one of the most famous bridges, the Pont des Arts, in Paris will be removed. Too bad, I really love this bridge, the locks and all the people that go to the bridge when visiting Paris.

Last summer I spend a week in New York. And I visited Brooklyn Bridge. When walking over the bridge, I suddenly discovered these love locks. Not as many as in Paris, but still very romantic...

Day 267 - Photography challenge: clouds

Last week I started with a photography course. Each week we get a challenge.

The challenge for this week is 'clouds'. Clouds as in clouds in the sky, smoke, candy clouds or whatever you can imagine.

As it was full moon, and the sky was cloudy and had mysterious and dramatic colors, I decided to make photo's of it. So I took my tripod, went outside and took a lot of photo's.

Here's one of them.
