Day 330 - Amazing sculptures: Les voyageurs de Marseille

Marseille is the European Capital of Culture 2013. There are a lot of events in the city.

One of them is an exhibition of sculptures from Bruno Catalano: Les voyageurs. What is so special about these sculptures, is that they are incomplete. The missing parts symbolize the fact that we all travel to fill up the missing parts in our life. Nice, ain't it?

Day 293 - Dutch Design Week 2013 has started: new concepts and trends

Yesterday was the start of Dutch Design Week 2013.

Each year you can find here new concepts, creative ideas, new trends and much more.
Next week I will take the train to Eindhoven, rent a bike an spend a day at this creative hotspot.
Of course I will take a lot of photos! You'll see...

Even when you're not interested in trends, you should watch it because of the beautiful illustrations.

Day 159 - Tomorrow's the big day: MoBA 2013 - Fetishism in Fashion

Tomorrow is the start of the fifth edition of MoBA, the Fashion Biennale of Arnhem (Netherlands)

The theme Fetishism in Fashion was chosen by Lidewij Edelkoort.
And it will be present in exhibitions, theatre, dance, films and workshops.

MoBA 2013 starts tomorrow, June 9, and ends on July 21.

Day 150 - DIY photography exhibition 1000 Photos Amsterdam in Melkweg Gallery

1000 Photos is a DIY exhibition in Amsterdam that can be visited from May 16 until June 16.
The location of the exhibition is: Melkweg Galerie in Amsterdam.

The exhibition consists of 15x20 cm photos donated by professional and amateur photographers.
The them of the exhibition is inside/outside.

On the final day of the exhibition the photos are sold for only 10 euro each in order to raise funds for Young in Prison. Young in Prison gives children behind bars perspective and skills for the future by creative projects.

Day 130 - Photography Berlin, Reichstag: experimenting with digital double exposure

With double exposure it is possible to create really magic photos.

During my stay in Berlin I took photos of the Reichstag. I combined one of these photos with a photo of an art work, representing the city of Berlin, and varied the blending mode.

Day 127 - Poster design: Reading aloud

Reading aloud is not only fun and cosy.

Reading aloud helps children acquire early language skills. It stimulates their language development and it also builds motivation, curiosity and memory.

In order to point out the importance of reading, 2VORM designed the following poster for the local library.
This poster shows that reading aloud can be done in different ways and to different persons:
baby's, toddlers, adolescents, adults and elderly.

Day 118 - Free wallpaper iPhone5: K(r)oningsdag 2013

In two days, on April the 30, we are celebrating Queensday in the Netherlands.

This year, it's a special day. Our queen, Beatrix, is resigning.
Her son, Willem Alexander, will become King of the Netherlands.

For this occasion I designed an iPhone wallpaper,

Day 115 - Boomerang card design: Happy Q-day

On the 30 of April, in the Netherlands we celebrate the birthday of Queen Beatrix.

orange (the color of the royalties) and - of course- tulips!

Day 106 - First 3D-print exhibition in Amsterdam: XYF, shaping Free Dimensions

On april the 5th the first 3D-print exhibition opened in Amsterdam.
The title of the exhibition is: XYZ, shaping Free Dimensions.

The aim of this exhibition is to show not only art and design objects,
but to show also the 3D-printing process.

The exhibition can be visited until June, the 2.

Day 104 - Opening Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

After 10 years of renovation, the Rijsmuseum reopened yesterday.

The Rijksmuseum (which means museum of the State) belongs to the
most breathtaking museums in the world. In the collection we find
masterpieces from Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer and Jan Steen.
The museum expects to welcome 2 million visitors pet year.

Day 101 - Cow parade and urbex photography

CowParade is one of the largest public art events in the world, see www.cowparade.com

I own three cows myself and I like them very much:

- Picowsos' s School for Arts

Last weekend I went out to take urbex photos.
As I went to an old, abandoned cow farm, Art of America accompanied me
and posed for me in the stables, sheds, kitchen and living room.

Day 84 - Boomerang card: Morgen (Tomorrow - 3)

Morgen is the Dutch word for 'tomorrow'.

Day 78 - The Berlin Wall: East Side Gallery

The Berlin Wall was the physical division between West Berlin and East Germany from 1961 to 1989. It was also a symbolic boundary between democracy and Communism during the Cold War. 

Memories of the Wall, however, are still very much alive. The most famous part is the East Side Gallery, 
an international memorial for freedom. The gallery consists of 105 paintings form artists from all over the world. 

Part of the East Side Gallery has to be removed to make way to a new bridge and a luxury block of flats. Hundreds of people protest against the demolition work an dhop that the Gallery can be saved...

Day 50 - My visit to the EYE FIlm Museum in Amsterdam

Last Sunday I went to Amsterdam with my photography class.

Our first stop was at the EYE Film Institute, the new Dutch centre for film culture and heritage, designed by Delugan Meissl. The white building attracts a lot of attention: is it a bird, a shell, a shark, or ...?

We spend a few hours in and around the building, and of course we took a whole lot of photos.

Day 46 - Couture graphique, the relation between fashion and graphic design

Today the exhibition Couture Graphique opened at MOTI (Museum Of The Image) in Breda, the Netherlands.

Couture Graphique is the first exhibition ever about the relationship between fashion and graphic design. A must see for every designer...
